Since joining the financial services industry in 2007, Matt has developed his business to offer creative and innovative investment, financial, business succession, and estate planning solutions to a diverse client base of entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, and their families in Austin and around the country. Matt has worked with companies on the Austin Business Journal’s “Fast 50” list, Inc 5000, and Inc 1000 companies.
Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ CFP® PROFESSIONAL and recognizes and abides by the strict duties, obligations, and practice standards outlined by the CFP Board; in how he serves his clients and in the profession of financial planning.
Matt has resided in Austin, Texas, for over 25 years. He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and moved to Austin to earn his degree in Music Performance from the University of Texas. Before entering the Financial Services industry, Matt worked in fundraising and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profit performing arts organizations.
Matt was drawn to the financial services industry because it appealed to his traditional family and financial independence values while offering the freedom to run his own business. He founded Williams Wealth Strategies (now WWS Financial LLC) in 2007 and quickly realized he could apply the creativity he cultivated throughout 30 years as a musician to his financial career. “Composing” a truly customized financial solution appropriate for a client’s specific assets and financial objectives requires as much artistry as it does science.
Matt lives in Central/Northwest Austin with his wife, daughter, son, and their two current rescue pets, one dog and one cat.
